Year 2 Expressive Still Life Painting

A post in our latest news section.

Year 2 have been exploring expressive still life painting this half term, learning how artists use colour, shape and brushstrokes to show feelings and atmosphere. The children selected their own everyday objects and used them as inspiration to create bold, imaginative still life artworks.

They experimented with different painting techniques, mixed colours to match their ideas, and thought carefully about how to arrange their objects to make an interesting composition. The results are wonderfully individual pieces that celebrate creativity, confidence and personal expression.

We are incredibly proud of their effort and artistic flair—well done, Year 2!
