Careers Week Success – Monday 8th June to Thursday 11th June

A post in our latest news section.

We are delighted to share that our recent Careers Week was a tremendous success! The week began with an exciting opening assembly, where we launched our focus on aspirations, opportunities and future pathways.

Throughout the week, all classes took part in a wide range of inspiring visits and engaging activities. We were incredibly fortunate to welcome a variety of professionals who shared their experiences and insight into their careers. Visitors included representatives from the Fire Service, doctors, a veterinary specialist, Northumberland National Park, National Highways, Northumbrian Water, and even Oscar-winning British filmmaker and director, James Reed.

The children demonstrated excellent enthusiasm and curiosity, asking thoughtful and insightful questions throughout each session. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explored different career possibilities and began to consider their own future ambitions.

The week concluded with all children coming to school dressed as their future selves, creating a vibrant and inspiring celebration of ambition and aspiration. In addition, pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 participated in a highly engaging Careers Fair, where they had the opportunity to explore a range of potential career pathways in more depth.

It was particularly inspiring to see the wide variety of aspirations represented across the school, with children confidently sharing their interests and future goals. The event provided a valuable platform for pupils to reflect on their ambitions, ask thoughtful questions, and celebrate their developing understanding of the world of work.

We are incredibly proud of how the children engaged with every aspect of the week. The impact of these experiences has been invaluable, helping to broaden horizons and inspire future aspirations.
