Refugee Week Baltic Art Exhibition

A post in our latest news section.

Through the eyes of a refugee:

After the gallery tour and Q&A session with the project lead, children discussed the impact displacement would have on children within the north east of England. What would they miss? How could they feel settled? How could they retain their identity?

To deepen their understanding of this, they were asked to completed an art construction project with designs that capture what is important to them and how this would represent their identity.

The children then displayed their work so that they could present and answer questions from peers.

The children then invited parents and carers into school to share their experience of the The Comfrey project and showcase their own designs.
