Summer Water Safety assembly

A post in our latest news section.

A really important and engaging Water Safety Assembly helped prepare children for the summer holidays. Pupils from Reception right through to Year 6 were fully involved and showed great enthusiasm throughout.

The children demonstrated a strong understanding of the key messages and were able to explain what to do in a water safety emergency. They could recall important advice about staying calm, calling for help, and how to keep themselves safe around water.

There was excellent participation when discussing the dangers linked to different bodies of water, including rivers, lakes, canals, reservoirs and the seaside. Children were able to identify a range of risks and showed a clear understanding that water can be dangerous, even when it appears safe.

It was lovely to see how well pupils could apply their knowledge to different scenarios and explain how they would respond safely. Their thoughtful answers and contributions highlighted a strong understanding of the importance of water safety and how to make safe choices during the summer holidays.
