As part of the food and nutrition strand of Design and Technology Year 1 have been investigating different types of fruit and vegetables. They have been looking at the characteristics of fruit and vegetables and can now classify and group them. They had a lot of fun tasting the different foods, learning different techniques such as grating, cutting and blending to find out which fruits and vegetables complimented one another. They then created their very own healthy smoothies.
