What a fantastic retreat at the Emmaus Village. The Year 5’s have enjoyed many engaging activities focusing on the Jubilee theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. They have shared their retreat with other local schools and have mixed very well, making new friends along the way. There was time for a beautiful walk in the woods where we stopped and used our senses, in prayer, amongst nature. They have reflected on their lives and all their ups and downs, designed a ‘perfect planet’ as well as many other activities. The leaders here have been amazing, journeying with the children all the way, their energy and personalities have really inspired all involved. Between all the activities there has been time for playing outside, playing football, chatting to friends, tucking into the tuck shop. Y5 have been a credit to the school and their families and I am sure they have learned more about themselves and have made lifelong memories.
